Hiring is difficult enough without poor UX – are you missing out on good candidates?

When you are hiring for a job you want to ensure you have the best of the best applying so you can sift through CV’s, shortlist, interview and select the best candidate for the job.

What if your application process is poor?

This will of course differ by company, industry and job role but i pose the question – what if you are missing out on the best applicants because your application process is poor, cumbersome and clunky.

There’s a few ways to look at this:

  1. If an applicant makes it through a clunky process then they must really want to work for you.
  2. What about the qualified, passionate and experience people who identified this as UX and took that as their first impression and gave up.

Are the people who gave up less worthy of the role or are these the people who you really want to get in touch with.

The thing is, digital is understandably a focus for businesses. It’s where the budget, time and resource goes but they then overlook their corporate site or resourcing process. This resourcing process is the lifeline to the success of your company in the future and many companies are gambling on it.

There is nothing wrong with the people who perservere through a poor process. These people are a valuable resource in themselves however what about the people who are specialists in an area and don’t complete because the relate your poor experience negatively towards how the company operates.

There are a number of companies who could be highlighted here but that’s not fair, We also know our own faults and I’m sure there are strategies in place to tackle these.
